Step 1.
When you are in Chats tab, tap on a dp of any chat. Just tap once on dp of which you want to take a screenshot.

Remember don’t tap again to show DP in larger size. Keep it in current position and take a screenshot. You will get a screenshot easily.
Step 3.
Don’t let the screenshot be saved automatically. Click on it before it disappears and crop the extra part and keep just profile picture. See this following pic.
Step 4.
After cropping save your screenshot. That’s it you have successfully saved profile picture in your gallery.

You can save or download Whatsapp dp in your mobile without installing any third party android or iOS app. All you need to do is just login your Whatsapp in Google chrome with the help of another mobile. Let’s see how.
Step 1.
Take a second mobile phone other than that one in which you have your Whatsapp account.
Step 2.
Open google chrome and go to Web.whatsapp.com. (You can google Whatsapp web)
After opening Webpage of Web.whatsapp.com you will see a QR code. Before connecting your Whatsapp just follow following step.

Tap on three dots at top left corner of chrome. You will see a long list of options. Just find Desktop site and check the box. It will turn your mobile Google Chrome into Desktop Chrome.
